Kellogg Removes Claims that Rice Krispies, Cocoa Krispies Boost Immunity

From Ad Age:

“Kellogg Co. today announced it would discontinue marketing Rice Krispies and Cocoa Krispies as products that could boost a child’s immunity…. Kellogg was responding to parental concerns that advertising and packaging was preying on fears of the H1N1 virus. But the FDA has been coming down on food marketers with increasing frequency.”

Back in 1983 David Ogilvy predicted advertising would evolve in such a way that creative would contain more truth and less hot air (see Prediction #3). Are we headed that way?
